in long beach there's a great instructor, his name is elliot...he's the greatest. he has a website...www.surf2live.com. check it out.

we do have the occasional sand shark and dog shark in long beach...they don't bother...but montauk long island is a different story..they have great whites...aaahhh!! lol!

i think i watched too much discovery channel, but the jersey shore has quite a few shark visitors....you should ask a local jersey shore surfer....i'm sure it's nothing major..loo!

never been to jersye to surf...actually a little scared of the jersey shore..lol! i surf at long beach in long island...pretty good spot for beginners...the locals are super friendly
